Envirothon

We had our county Envirothon today. Our team, the Picky Porcupines (I didn't come up with the name since I was put in a week before the competition), won Forestry, which was the first time our high school won anything Envirothon-related. We also got 7th out of 18, which is not bad considering.

Congratulations! Our county Envirothon was May 6th, I placed 2nd in Wildlife, (McGuffey High School beat me by 6 points). We also placed 1st in Forestry and Aquatics, 2nd in Current Issue, and 3rd in Soils. Collectively my school finished first place in Washington County and is moving onto states May 26th.

I can't wait, I really wanna finish in the top 5 of Wildlife at states =D

EASTstroudsburg13, how about does your team prepare for the Envirothon? This is my last year competing, so I'm not going to steal your methods, I'm just curious how other teams prepare.

Most people learn the stuff in the Environmental Science class we have, and others look over the materials before the competition.

I was also on teams with EastStroudsburg13, but the year after he left (which I was really disappointed about him not being able to go with us) we qualified for states. That was last year. This year, we can't even do our county competition because its the same day as states for Science O...

I checked it out and it seems pretty cool. I have a few questions. A) is it for high school only? B) Is it as involves as scioly? C) Can homeschool teams compete?

It's not only high school, I participated in middle school. It is definitely not as involved as scioly. I believe homeschool teams can participate, but I actually don't know on that count.
