"I'm intimidated by the fear of being average."

"Never, never, never give up."~ Winston Churchill

"If you're going through Hell keep going." ~Winston Churchill

"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." ~Thomas A. Edison

As you can probably tell, in my opinion, persistence is key to accomplishing anything. For instance, take my particular weak point, sports/athletics (which is required at my school) I could just stop trying and lazily just get a passing grade. But I don't I keep trying to succeed and, little by little, I get faster and stronger. The same applies for academics, SO (just think about the practice required for Write It Do It... ) or any field you can think of. It all comes down to persistence.
2010 Events: Shock Value: 1st in Region, 2nd in State Experimental Design: 2nd in State Pentatholon: 3rd in State Solar System: 2nd in Region

Wait, so if I'm stuck on a boat with only one other person and no food (hypothetically), shouldn't I logically kill and eat him, even if I'm emotionally repelled by the thought of such an action?

Most definitely. It's really hard to succeed in life if you're dead.
