For all you middle schoolers who hate English and are going into high school...
It DOES NOT get better. Especially if you take AP.

Grades don't really matter in middle school...haha. I had teachers like that, being a pigeon and almost randomly docking points. I try not to get too mad about it, after all, you don't need a teacher to say how good something is, nor is she the end all judge. If you learned something and challenged yourself, that's all it matters.

I really liked AP Lit, or at least better than I expected. However, that was mostly due to my teacher, who was fantastic. :D

I'm hoping I'll like it. What kind of books do you read in AP Lit?

Mainly ones that include several different themes, and usually ones that are considered classic works of literature. We ended up doing Heart of Darkness, Crime and Punishment, Metamorphosis, A Farewell to Arms, Waiting for Godot, among many others. It's different most places, but on the AP site you may be able to find sample essays that include lists of possible works on them to get an idea.

Also, poetry. ;)

Oh, sweet. I'm planning on reading Crime and Punishment, but I don't know when. .-.
