I forgot the word "ground" when presenting to a judge during Awesome Aquifers. There was a space of several seconds where I was trying to think of the correct word to describe what I was talking about before my partner jumped in and rescued me.
Not really a mistake, but during a Meteorology test it asked what the acronym BWER stood for. My partner and I had no idea, and I really wanted to put "Bad Weather Eel Radar," but my partner made me change the "eel" part.
I had a duck keychain with a button that would make the duck light up and quack when you pressed it. I brought it to my Ornithology regionals as good luck and put it in my pocket, but when I leaned against a desk it started quacking. The proctors thought it was an actual bird call.
