At Boyceville on the Astronomy test we had to match images of important historical people to their names... one of them was Snoopy XD On the same test was an mc question about who was the captain of the USS Enterprise (And not the battleship). Needless to say I was very much amused.

I've seen some very strange questions on Food Science tests, but the weirdest one ever had to be:

"What is the New York State muffin?"
a) Blueberry b) Apple c) Chocolate Chip d) Orange Cranberry.

We were like '....wait, seriously?"

In the same event, we had a whole station on eggs, which included a diagram of an egg where we had to label no less than 10 different parts, identify what a "chalaza" was, and determine which egg in front of us was hard boiled and which was raw without breaking them.

At a different Food Science event, we were given a station with pieces of broccoli. We had to write down observations about the different pieces and guess which one was raw, which had been boiled in water for 3 minutes, and which had been boiled in water for 2 hours with baking soda. It was easy, but weird.
2009 events:
Fossils: 1st @ reg. 3rd @ states (stupid dinosaurs...) 5th @ nats.
Dynamic: 1st @ reg. 19thish @ states, 18th @ nats
Herpetology (NOT the study of herpes): NA
Enviro Chem: 39th @ states =(
Cell Bio: 9th @ reg. 18th @ nats
Remote: 6th @ states 3rd @ Nats
Ecology: 5th @ Nats

On an It's About Time test, which my physics AP teacher wrote, "How long did it take the Concord to cross the Atlantic?" and yes he spelled Concorde wrong

And on a Fermi test that I wrote, " What is the weight of all the medals given out at the 2011 Texas State Competition in orphans' tears?"

On a B-div Bio Process Lab, there was this weird quote from a bumper sticker which had nothing to do with biology, processes, labs, or really anything in life. I don't remember it but my dd does (and she's out of town right now on a college tour!) but they had to write a paragraph explaining the meaning of the bumper sticker.

On an astronomy/B exam, the kids were asked what constellation is on the back of a Subaru! Pleades (did I spell that right?). That was three or four years ago and everytime I see a Subaru I look for Pleades ... as well as politically liberal bumper stickers.

Probably some of the Fermi questions...

"How many sausage links would it take to get to the moon?"

On a sounds test at our regional, we had "if a tree falls in a forest and no one hears it, does it make a sound?". Still not sure if we got it right, its a rather debatable topic. The tree falling clearly causes vibrations in the air, but then you get into the whole debate of whether something exists if no one experiences it.
