Robot arm broke at competition, almost got last place at states. Could have cost my team first. Instead, I fixed it in 2 minutes and got perfect score which ended up putting me in first place :D. But still things can go wrong real fast, exp. when you disconnect a cable with your foot..

Last year at nationals my team missed 10th place by two points, which would have gotten us a team trophy.. I melted down in WQ..blowing an easy question and not listening to my partner on another one cost us for an individual score and thus the team score.

Same here. Also my Meteorology partner got 2 6th places too. She did Disease and Meteorology and got sixth. Luckily she did Dynamic and got fourth.
I got sixth in Shock and Meteorology... and fifth in Heredity.

I was one place away from a medal in two events - Disease Detectives and Thermodynamics - this year at nationals. 7th in both. Grrr.

In 2011, I competed for in Div B in Indiana...we landed in 3rd place overall, with a total of 135, missing nationals by ONE POINT. Ugh! I hear it was such a good tournament too!

2012 was super lucky for us though. We finished 2nd that year, secured a spot in Florida...6 points ahead of 3rd place. What's more, Indiana and Colorado's Div B school enrollment was exactly the same (87, I believe), and Indiana got to send 2 B schools while Colorado only sent 1 B school. We were literally at that cutoff.

EDIT: hscmom, if you're reading this...well, you can tell I was on that second-seed team from Indiana (in 2012). Sorry!
