So, in a science book, I heard about this super mysterious thing called ball lightning. I looked it up on Wikipedia, and it turns out it is this type of lightning that is shaped like a ball and can go through walls. It floats around a while, then explodes. I was wondering if anybody knew more about it?

You're probably right about the forum. They have been confirmed to exist, but nobody knows the true nature of them.

Well... Umm, it's not strictly meteorology, and there are cases of people seeing it.

I'm not quite clear on the subject, but I understand that it looks like a ball of plasma and just kinda moves around before going out, wether or not it's violent I've not been told... However, as the story goes, a guy I know that's an electrical engineer was out in a service call in a plant and they had a small explosion in a cabinet, something had shorted, and suddenly this ball of lighting (as he described it) rolled out of the cabinet across the floor and vanished. I'm not sure if that's exactly what you mean, but thats the only personal encounter with it I've ever heard of. Sounds like really scary stuff.

Look at Wikipedia. But yeah, it can explode sometimes and sometimes it doesn't
