Haslett (MI) Invitational

Post by meierfra »

The Haslett Science Olympiad Div. C Invitational will be Jan. 18, 2020. Notice this is one week earlier than our usual weekend. Circumstances beyond our control forced the date change. Price is $65 per team.

Last year, 90% of the teams qualified for their State Tournament and we expect to have another strong field this year. We also anticipate having a few State Supervisors running events. The website will be updated when we know which events. Bonus: even though we are not holding our tournament on the same date, we have again agreed to swap tests and keys with the Eastside Invitational so all teams will get 2 complete test sets.

Registration is open on the website. https://haslettsciolyinvitational.weebl ... -info.html
We follow the national schedule.

For the 2019-2020 competition year, Michigan will allow up to 17 students per team. It specifically says in the rule that this applies to invitational tournaments also. http://miscioly.org/more-of-a-good-thing-team-size-17/ If you are coming from out of state, it's ok with me if you have 17 students, but you probably need to check with your state membership coordinator.

I hope to see you all in January! Good luck with your year!

The Haslett Invitational was snowed out last weekend. We have 27 teams who have agreed to reschedule on Feb. 29th. If you've had an event cancelled or are just looking for a late invitational, we'd love to have you join us. The tests are all written. We again have a strong field; 80% of the current registrants attended the State tournament last year.

PS. As per the discussion on the Michigan forum, Michigan teams all have 15 students.
