That seems to be indicated since Wikipedia says that nothing important happened on July 6, 1945 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1945). However, important events did happen on July 5 and 8, 1945. On a related matter, there are less than 1.5 hours for officers to protect people. Even if the clue doesn't get solved, officers will still need to protect people (The 48 hour time period for the clue ends at 5:06 pm est.).

I accidentally looked at the time the first hint was posted instead of the time that the clue was posted.

I'm thinking littleboy could be the sassy here because his posts and the sassy's happen to be close together (he posted that he missed this game a minute after the sassy posted the list of officers). Also, with this clue, he thought August was the 7th month and if the sassy thought the same thing, he is very likely the sassy. If you don't want to waste an accusation on this one, just don't protect littleboy. If he is indeed the target and also the sassy, its game over as the sassy will have killed himself. This is all just speculation though...
