Post by fifty_missions »

Site Height FACTORING for WRIGHT STUFF at NATS.

Refer to coaches updates from the SO national office concerning flying site height factoring per flight at the National Event.

Tom;

Will the flight video be public after tournament? It will be nice that those videos can be available since we lost the opportunity to watch the flight on site

Hi Tom,

While this isn't an official venue through which to express manners, are you able to offer insight on the height factoring? There was no update pushed out to my coach nor any other coach that I have spoke with. If the height factoring was used, this doesn't seem evidently fair to the competition as a whole as this arbitrary ranking/weighting was pushed out, with little or no teams knew it existed nor the extent to which it affected them.

One example being a placement my personal placement lower than another team, while my raw combined flight time(which doesn't matter as both teams got both bonuses) was longer than theirs by a certainly quantifiable amount of time.

Some insight would be nice.
