Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2018
We have all been that clueless newbie. People on the forums, to my knowledge, try hard to explain "this idea was for last year" or that idea is not "THE be all end all official solution". We do ask for *build plans* (describing how you made it) to emphasize what ideas/materials you used. If you're very afraid about it, you could note in the pics/plans that they are based on 2018 rules, etc, but we tend to leave formatting as an exercise for you (with guidance from us)!MadCow2357 wrote:...Abbreviating the you said...
As for medals, you contribute a lot and...you know what, I'm going to quote a timeless quote from an old person: viewtopic.php?t=2182#p122197.
But notes are helpful:(.Things2do wrote:I think Imma stick to tests...
So...I don't know the topic. But for Div B space events, they stick with a topic for 2 years and change the objects...kinda. Last time Solar System was an event they made few (if any?) rules changes. As a result, I'm fine with Solar System submissions that use 2018 rules (unless someone wants to yell that's a bad idea).19alekb wrote:Uh, this is kind of off topic, but for solar system b, is the topic going to be the same?
B: Crave the Wave, Environmental Chemistry, Robo-Cross, Meteo, Phys Sci Lab, Solar System, DyPlan (E and V), Shock Value
C: Microbe Mission, DyPlan (Fresh Waters), Fermi Questions, GeoMaps, Grav Vehicle, Scrambler, Rocks, Astro

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2018
Is it possible that I write both division B and C tests and get access to both divisions?
Also, for physical science events, should I include lab portions?

See first post. It's not only tests, and you get access to all resources. Submitting resources is also explained (including reviewing, whether it gets uploaded, etc).jaah5211 wrote:So I make tests and submit for resource?...Is it possible that I write both division B and C tests and get access to both divisions?
It's not required, whatever you think will result in better learning. That said, if you only write a test, the test should be longer. If you include a lab portion, you should give sufficient documents to explain the lab (pictures / diagrams, setup, example graphs, whatever is appropriate). Either way is not easier or harder.jaah5211 wrote:Also, for physical science events, should I include lab portions?

Just interested, what minor changes would be made?syo_astro wrote:We have all been that clueless newbie. For Solar System?19alekb wrote: Just interested, what minor changes would be made?
The rules might have different Hands On/Interpretive Tasks for Division B students.
I think Solar System will be using the same terrestrial bodies, because the topic will be the same next year.

There are prior examples of this (2015 SSSS, it looks like from the WIDI wiki page) so yeah.Ten086 wrote:Is writing a WIDI test an option? Like uploading pictures of the build and a rubric?

Just got an E-Mail from the SSSS Mod team...
Are the mods already picked out or what?
E-Mail did not clearly state what happened...
Just that mod apps had closed down.
