Missouri Region VII had 20 teams in C division this year, up from 17 last year. B is usually larger for us, with 22 B teams this year. It really just depends on what area you're in, and when you're competing. Some schools might not compete every year.
(Projected) 2019-2020 Events (C): Astronomy, Designer Genes, Forensics, Write It Do It
2018-19 Events (C): Designer Genes, Fossils, Write It Do It (formerly also Mousetrap Vehicle and Experimental Design)
2017-18 Events (B): Rocks and Minerals, Wright Stuff, Write It Do It
I edit the wiki sometimes.

I did what I could for NorCal in that thread, so I can repost here. Each region sends four teams per division, one per school.

Fresno had 13 schools / 19 teams in B, 13 schools / 20 teams in C.
Tulare numbers indicate maybe 17 teams in B and 16 in C.
Stanislaus only releases top five so I suppose you could count 'em up but I didn't feel like doing all that
San Joaquin, couldn't find
Sacramento had 16 schools / 27 teams in B, and 22 schools / 40 teams in C.
Bay Area had 22/41 in B, 20/35 in C.
Santa Clara had 21/46 in B, 24/51 in C.

In Illinois, the average B regional had 11 varsity teams (17 teams total - JV teams may not qualify for state); the average C regional had 13 varsity teams and 20 teams total.
The biggest B regional was Neuqua (17 varsity teams, 32 total). Neuqua was also one of the larger C regionals, with 26 total teams (13 varsity), but the biggest this year was Lake County (18 varsity teams, 31 total).

My counts might be off by 1 or 2 in a couple of places, but they're close enough.
