The Staircase of Wasted Time

Here's how it works. A tool looks at the forum and checks who is online and who is doing what. The tool separates the time spent into different categories:
- Useful: doing useful things, like browsing and contributing to Building Events.
- Wasted: wasting the site's bandwidth by posting junk in Posting Games, for example. Also includes when you're wasted. Tsk tsk, kids.
- Useless: anything else you spend time on that doesn't help anyone, like viewing the The Staircase of Wasted Time
The tool is not very smart, but please don't hurt his feelings. If you don't want to be on the list, just make yourself invisible in the UCP. If you're already on the list and wish not to be, PM me and you can be excluded from the collected data.
Here's how to use it, since a lot of people seem to have trouble with such a simple task as viewing a chart:
- Sort by different measures of time spent. Click on the "Sort by" links:
- See what percent of time you spend is Useful, Useless, or Wasted. Hover over the appropriate bar:
- Hide "Time spent" categories. Click on the category you want to toggle visibility for, in the legend below:
Note that this will alter your displayed percentages. StiWT can not change your past behavior and so the time you've wasted will remain wasted.
