It's not complex at all. It's basically a ruled rod of some sort with a rubber stopper on the end. You just need to mark it based on known quantities of salt (so it floats at a certain height with no salt, and then a certain high in a .1 M salt solution, and another height at .2M, etc). I only actually did the event once, at Invitationals, so we didn't have to test the salinometer, but you test it during most competitions, it's a relatively minor part of the whole event.

Enviro Chem: 39th @ states =(
Cell Bio: 9th @ reg. 18th @ nats

so just clarifying and trying to note all possible changes for division B 2011-2012 :

jyc -> mission possible
ornithology -> forestology
ecology -> water quality
fossils -> rocks+minerals
shock value -> keep the heat
solar system -> reach for the stars
battery buggy ->mousetrap vehicle

and for the events with the same name, but different subject

anatomy- respiratory and ?
dynamic planet- earth's fresh water
meteorology- climate

did I miss anything?

Basically, all events to the right of the slash are Division C events. If there is only one event in the column, then it is for Divisions B and C.

And remember this is all TENTATIVE. Things could still change after our meetings at nationals.

Nothing is confirmed, which is why I keep emphasizing TENTATIVE.

I'm sorry, I did not know what tentative means.
