When we get to that station I'm like "Oh look! It's a live butterfly!" My partner who was a really tall buff guy who isn't scared of anything says "No...it's dead." We debate over if it's alive or dead for a bit and then he decides to poke the container it's in. The butterfly reared up and started hissing like crazy at him. It was really really funny because he jumped backwards and looked actually scared.
Live specimens? This story could also go under the topic "Awesomely Run Events At Science Olympiad Competitions" if it existed.
Yup...it was awesome! Just realized that the post says butterfly instead of the common name for Blattodae. The filter must have gotten it. ;)
The filter needs to drop its affinity for butterflies. First, it's "pleas 775 for butterfly" in Poorly Run Event Stories, then this.

But really, I don't know why they censor coackroach. (Intentionally misspelled)

first syllable of coackroach might be taken for a different word. I mean rooster, of course.

Couldn't the filter just check for spaces on both sides and then remove?

Yeah, coders probably didn't think of that.
Funny thing is you can type "assassination" just fine...

That's probably because there are a lot more words with "-ass" or "ass-" in it (e.g. class).

So remember that Blattodae at state? Guess what was at the regionals? That's right. 3 live Blattodae. Guess who won? We have decided that live Blattodae are good luck in Ento.

We got lost in the library at State and all of the lights were off and then we went up a really creepy staircase. Then we heard a really weird noise (don't even know how to explain it) and of course, being the stupid people we are we went to look for it. Then we heard another really weird noise and we screamed and ran but couldn't find how to get out of the library. We ended up calling our coach and she had to come find us in the library to get us out.

Still have NO idea what that noise is but I'm planning to go back into the library this year at State ;) hopefully the lights will be on this time haha

So at regionals and state, to get around you walk outside, like in the quad area. The hallways are outdoors. Anyway, there were silverfish. EVERYWHERE.

The Woz's speech at the beginning of every forensics competition. Enough said. I've heard it too many times yet still can't recite it perfectly
