Actually, it is much easier for a girl to hula-hoop than it is for a guy. The body shape of a mature female human is much more conductive than it is for a male of similar age. We don't have the right curves, if you want it in the vernacular.

Yes, but there are those of us ("us" meaning persons of the female gender) who lack the amount of muscle coordination neccesary to hula-hoop without looking like a total idiot. I might also add that some teams have all-male Pentathlon teams.

That's true- but it's more likely for a girl to be able to hula-hoop than it is for a boy. My mom can do it very well, and one of my sisters could when she was 3. Not saying that all girls can, but in my experience more can than boys.

Gender doesn't really matter, in my opinion, but girls may simply be better at these tasks than guys. We were all playing street hockey or playing with our calculators when we could have been practicing hula hoops or jump ropes. (Well, I was at least, I can't speak for everyone)

It doesn't have to do with gender so much as body shape. An "hourglass" body shape is certainly more conductive to hula-hooping. Girls are more likely to have this, but I know some guys who come close to having one and some girls who don't. Since gender can kind of control shape, I think my statement is valid.

Even if it's backed up scientifically, on a genetic level, and you say it is true for a majority but not all cases, girls will still call you sexist.

Yes, I realize the irony in that my statement is sexist.

How is that sexist? Boys and girls are built differently- that's a fact of life.
Point- I once said that in many bird species, the female is duller colored than the male. A few girls said it was true, while boys said it was sexist.
I doubt any girls will find my statement sexist.

I love how one comment about how one person of the female gender had to hula hoop in Pentathlon, because no one else on the team could, turns into this.

And no, I don't find that sexist. It's science, and you can't argue with science!
