Model This [Trial]

Discussion for Model This.
-The path of the Administrator is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.

-Nothing\'s gonna get deleted. We\'re gonna be like three little Fonzies here. And what\'s Fonzie like? Come on, what\'s Fonzie like?
-Cool?
-Correctamundo. And that\'s what we\'re gonna be. We\'re gonna be cool. Now, I\'m gonna count to three, and when I count three, you let go of your mouse, and back away from the keyboard. But when you do it, you do it cool. Ready? One... two... three.

Is it known whether or not participants will have to learn the programming language of NetLogo and Vensim PLE? Or is the model going to be provided and students make modifications on the model without effecting the original code.

I found the actual program. There is no programming involved. You have to look harder for it.

Actually you do have to program for net logo it is quite difficult to

Does anyone have an example of a question they might ask?

You might be asked what assumptions the model (that you made or the event coordinators made) contains? One assumption would be that everyone is equal risk.
My Events
Meteorology- 1st place regionals
Ecology- 5th place regionals
Solar System- 5th regionals (tie)

If a pre-proprammed model is used in the event; sliders could be used to manipulate the variables and observe possible changes. Such as, if the vaccination rate increases, does the amount of infection decrease. Simplistic but reasonable.

Regarding programming, yes I agree, the coding for NetLego isn't easy. However, I have found attempting your own by using other model examples, gives an edge and also gives the user an opportunity to understand probability of events, such as an epidemic. Coding isn't much different than using any other programming language such as xml or php script.

Model This is basically about programming and when you change the variables then it would affect the result. There is almost nothing to study for.
We are going to Nationals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Model This was a pretty hard trial event. I think you really did need to study quite a bit for this event. My partner and I weren't quite prepared...
