Is it Ok if we fill a 2 liter bottle up with ice cold water and then use hot glue on it?

HOWEVER. If you are talking about gluing something onto your pressure vessel, which I assume you are so I just used sarcasm at the beginning, I would strongly suggest not doing that- hot glue is not allowed in this year's set of rules.
In other words, ignore my first remark, I'm just a big jerk.

Oh.. ohkay!! thanks!.... is there a special type of fins to use?? I've been told to use cardboard ones but they aren't very stable.......

You also need to make sure that the rocket is stable, which might be part of the problem with height. If its not flying straight, then its not stable. To fix stability you may need to make your rocket longer. If you want more detail about stability say so, and I can tell you how to ensure that the rocket will be stable, which helps it go higher.
And a large parachute helps keep the egg up longer, and you want to make sure that the parachute deploys close to apogee.
