Yes that is perfectly fine.

HOWEVER. If you are talking about gluing something onto your pressure vessel, which I assume you are so I just used sarcasm at the beginning, I would strongly suggest not doing that- hot glue is not allowed in this year's set of rules.

In other words, ignore my first remark, I'm just a big jerk.

Balsa fins work well, if tending towards brittle at times.

You also need to make sure that the rocket is stable, which might be part of the problem with height. If its not flying straight, then its not stable. To fix stability you may need to make your rocket longer. If you want more detail about stability say so, and I can tell you how to ensure that the rocket will be stable, which helps it go higher.

And a large parachute helps keep the egg up longer, and you want to make sure that the parachute deploys close to apogee.

Yeah! that would be great if you told me about stability and how to stabilize it! would you put the fins under the cone??

The question is how did you keep the nose cone from fusing onto the bottle when that happened :P

That's my problem! were you able to get your parachute to deploy? How did you do that? Mine flips and nose dives down.

we have stoppers, i'll post a pic, the bottom half shoots up and when it is out of juice the top keeps going forward and at the top it all seperates, it has gotten3 to 4 minutes consistantly.
