Keep overall weight down
Keep propeller weight down
Make sure your polarity is correct
Remember two 9v in parallel is still only 9v
Always use fresh batteries when testing

This seems like a really cool event, how do you keep the car levitated? Magnets? Also, how does the car move....
Man i sound like such an idiot, i read the rules and the only thing i understood: car, pull. load.

there is a maglev car that is propelled by fans. i think that is the only way for it to move

A of course.....fans. So a motor powers the fans, and the car has to pull a load. Seems simple enough, i suppose thats why its not in C div....i wish it was though
id love to do something like this.

i think it may used to have been. any way, it isn't as simple as it sounds. you need to make sure the fans dont hit the track wals and you need to get polarity, levitation height, and power etc. right otherwise it epic fails.

And sometimes it epically fails anyway.
You also need to chart test runs and predict your time. Prediction is a big part of it.

the tracks are bent and/or warped sometimes which doesnt help either.
