My team's car (I didn't actually work on this event- my partner did all the work) worked like a charm at Regionals, and then doesn't work at all at States. The track at States used weak magnetic strips that could not levitate the car enough and so our batteries got stuck to the magnets. Besides, there's not a whole lot you can learn that other events can't teach ten times better, and there's not really a practical application.
prehaps the event people should require certain types of magnetic strips to be used, thereby eliminating the inconsistency.

i mean rule people.

Last year the polarity was reversed, and I decided to never do this event again. I was crushed. Like blue cobra, I was top of my region, came to States, and got in the thirties. The guy who runs the event is not putting the proper effort in (last year the stopping mechanism was his JACKET) and it shows. I mean, the event is about precision, and he uses a stopwatch? Not gonna fly.

I know, but for CoT they could use an electronic tripping system. My school has that.
