Re: Ornithology B/C
The Audobon has more information, the peterson has identification tips. It depends on what your weak on: notes or id?
Does anyone know if we can have sticky notes in our field guide (and could we possibly write on our sticky notes)? Thanks!

So, yes I think you could write on them. I mean they wouldn't really serve another purpose if it wasn't organized, right?gyourkoshaven wrote:It says it can be tabbed, so I would presume that's what it means.

Re: Ornithology B/C
Last year they let people put sticky notes in their book for Reptiles and Amphibians and since they are very similar I would think that they would let us.

Another book that I found really useful, (for me at least.) Is the Encyclopedia of North American Birds... It has all of the technical stuff, pix, and tons of info.

Re: ornithology guides.
The Sibley Guide to Birds. There are actually 4 Sibley bird books (2 field guides, the big guide, and behavior), but I used the Sibley Guide to Birds in 2002 and it was fantastic. I think it has the best illustrations and had everything on the list.

Re: Ornithology B/C
This is my first year and I've been trying to figure things out....
Baised on my own research of Ornithology and what I have learned from just reading what others have posted, you need to know about your bird calls. So I say to get yourself ready for an Audio style test. I have visited some websites that some others have been kind enough to share with me and so far it apears that the test will be mainly focused on "Birds of Prey" -- how to identify them by looks/markings/calls/etc.
If you have any information you have to share that can back this up or get me on the right page, please message me.
Thank You.

The fully updated official list is actually this one:crabnebula143 wrote:The rules can be ordered on line

The only difference is that the Loggerhead Shrike was put in its own family.
When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.
