yeah, it just means we are allowed two field guides instead of one. which probably means the test will be super hard and will require both people flipping through field guides to finish the station or slide or whatever it is in time. but thats just my opinion. anyway, dont freak out, you will be allowed everything you had at regionals and states, plus an extra field guide! so pick that carefully, cuz you're going to need all the information you can get.

It will probably be tough. Although, last year you were allowed two for A&R, and that test was really easy.

Don't forget to study these for nats. They were on our states test, and we would've been dead if I hadn't randomly looked it up the day before as last-minute cramming. :d

Also, time to start talking about next year! This event would be perfect if they:

1. Allowed us binders
2. Shortened the list (just a little bit!)

Where did you see an emu? I didn't think they were native to Pennsylvania.
I like the length of the list, but I think they should remove some songs and calls.
You're completely right about the binder, however. Two years ago I did Amphibians with a binder, and last year fossils (urgh, conflicts, so not this year) and the binder was a great resource. I didn't need it for fossils, but it was a good backup. I want one for birds.
The National test integrated a lot of ornithology that wasn't identification, so that was good. It had questions on anatomy, which I liked. However, it was unfortunately pretty easy, with very bad vocalizations given.
Either way, 6th place isn't something to sniff at.

The nationals test was pretty easy? How did it compare to the states test? And was there a very short time limit for each station?

I agree, a binder for birds would be heavenly, but I think the list the way it is is fine.

The Nationals test was much easier than states, with two minutes per station.
BTW Junexia, did you notice that Booth had interpreted the rules the way I did when I got scared? I remember being so relieved everything was okay.
