We get assigned to events based on what we're good at and what we like. However, I'm going to be a freshie next year and the youngest on the Div C team, so I'm probably going to get what no one else wants, unless I can convince them to let me pick my events because of how good I've done (relative to the rest of my team) in Div B.

Lol, at my school, most of the study events (except Anatomy and Cell Bio) are "events nobody wants". Theres not too much dedication on our team (and honestly, nobody really cares about the learning and discovery aspect of doing a study event, theyre just lazy...), so i take any events i like cause my coach knows i work hard and actually get results - now if our regional was more competitive, i suppose everyone would work harder, but ya, o well. You could the advantage in this is that i can get any events i want and i can be proud of doing well at state, but on the other hand we have no chance of making it to nats...

kinda the same with us, lllazar.
we usually get top 3 at regionals, and in the past years, we've been able to crack the top 10 at states, and we even got 5th this year! but its new york, its almost impossible to outseat F-M and WM, plus Columbia and Spackenkill arent that far behind.

Actually, WM's only been to Nationals recently for the past two years. For a while, it was FM and Spackenkill that were the favorites. Things can change =) (though hopefully, it's FM finally going down, not WM. Nothing against you FM but....yes, Im bitter).

They should extend the list if anything. Honestly the list is relatively short and the ID is too easy as is, they should add more brachiopods and trilobites to the list. The list however probably will change little if at all.

Lol ya, it's like memorizing 100 or so vocab words, except these come with pictures...which makes it all that much easier. More Brachiopods and Trilobites would certainly be a welcome change...
