will this be an event next year... i did not like it at all, it is far too narrow of a field

yea it was made an official event months ago thats why it was at nationals so that at least a team from each state would know about it

2nd Protein Modeling
3rd Microbe Mission

Yes it will be an event next year, replacing cell bio.
2011 Season Events~

Fossils (Regionals ~1st) (State ~6th)
Towers (Regionals ~1st) (State ~3rd)
Helicopter (Regionals -3rd gahhh) (State ~5th)
Wind Power (Regionals ~1st) (State ~3rd TIERED!)

There's nothing wrong with having some events that are more narrowly focused; the events like Chem Lab, Ecology, etc. take care of some of the broader-spectrum topics, and it can be interesting to learn about a more specific topic.

2010: 5th in NYS
2011: 4th in NYS
2012: 3rd in NYS

pigeon yes! I did Cell Bio this year and i like Proteins a lot more as an event.

Yeah, the semi-artistic element does make this more fun :) Mostly I just like proteins, though. And computers. And this event conveniently combines the two :D
