Lucky...both the B and C Div teams at my school are on a downward slide with seniors graduating, people moving, and hardly any new people joining. I'm pretty sure that before I graduate, the B team will have failed to make it past Regionals (and we did so well last year- 7th place at States).

Still, looking forwards to next year!

It always seems like that, but something'll happen to change that, or you could go recruiting yourself ;)

Yeah, I'll probably have to go recruiting- or get some of the 7th graders to do it for me, because they know more people in their grade than I do. However, I seriously doubt anything is going to happen to change the current situation, unless by some miracle, 10 people from BC/Strath Haven/Harriton/Penncrest move to Hershey.

That's pretty much my situation too — unless a lot of experienced, motivated people move to State College, it's unlikely that we'll do very well as a team. But I am planning on proposing some major reforms, so I'll see how that works out.

Hold on there. You can't expect us to compete with those powerhouses considering we've never gotten higher than 9th at states. We still have to focus on making states for the first time in school history. Maybe making top 20 at states is a more realistic goal if we make it. I think you've been a bit spoiled in going to states every year you've done it.

I wouldn't say our incoming sophomores are any better than the seniors that we will be losing. Just very different. Our seniors were incredibly bright, but weren't motivated enough to dedicate a good chunk of time to Science Olympiad. Our sophomores will have the dedication, but they can't match the academic experience that our seniors had. Considering the seniors (and everyone else, for that matter) put very little study time into their events, the fact that we still get medals and consistently make States says a lot. Now we don't just want to settle with being "the decent team that doesn't work but still goes to states."

Many of our newbie to-be juniors that will be joining us next year have no experience with Science Olympiad. To say the least, it will be a fresh start for LM Science Olympiad, but the seniors we'll be losing will definitely be missed. We have a long way to go until we can rival Penncrest and Harriton, but I believe we can do it... in time.
Those who think they know everything annoy those of us who actually do.
Be nice to nerds, chances are you'll end up working for one of us.
