Ultimate Tournament

Postby jazzy009 » Fri Mar 26, 2010 4:06 am

Are any teams interested in an ultimate tournament on Friday, before the competition? I joked about this last year but some team members really want to do it.
Got 7 people and will be on campus on Friday, May 21st at 1 PM? Hit me up.

No steps when you have possession of the frisbee (reasonable deceleration is okay, cannot score via decelerating)
1 point will be earned by catching the frisbee in your team's designated end zone
Games will be played to 6 points or 35 minutes, whichever comes first. If still tied at 35 minutes there will be a 5 minute overtime
This event is a bracket system, single elimination
No intentional attempts at injury (especially to the writing hand of team Write It/Do It people ;)
Arm-length distance between you and the thrower

I was hoping a couple fields on campus would do. Most people will be around there anyways. I believe our hotel is 2 blocks away. There are fields on campus right?

Mhmm....theres a nice open field in the quad and a few others which i cant seem to name of the top of my head...

Ive actually played ultimate a lot with a few under grad friends near the quad and its a nice area...if its not filled with people. It should be fine though...

I can't be sure we're going, but a nationwide SO ultimate tourny is about the best idea after SO itself.

Though many strong ultimate players have gone to C div, we still have a few left. Or maybe we can smuggle some of our C div. people onto our team just to play ultimate

It's often played at the end of the season for us, so most people know the game well.

I just lost the game.
