Team number at nationals have potential to cause problems on a team; however, nothing as drastic as what sciencegeek100 said should happen. The top scores are from 150-350, and seeing that at most an event would cost 61 points, the fact that a team would stray away from the top 10 with one bad event doesn't seem too true. Plus, top teams most likely will be watching for conflicts as to train new people, making a drop at worst in the 30's or 40's. MHOThats the thing, i don't think they do. Sure, I think there might be problems if you prepare for an event at nats from day one and find out there is a conflict, but IMHO, i don't think thats a very wise strategy. If anything, you need to focus on the invitational/regional/state competition coming up first, then take that knowledge and build on it for nationals. That way if you find out about a conflict, i think it would be a lot less stressful.
