So there is another really good memory i have from the Wichita competition. Our coaches wanted to surprise us, so when we landed, they arranged our ride to campus to be the "party bus", literally a neon green bus loaded with speakers, lights, and a disco ball. After we got all our stuff onto the bus, we danced our way down the intertstate. Needless to say, it was an awesome ride from the airport. :D

At GW, we went to the Natural History Museum (I think I was the only one excited about this). I hadn't been since I was two, so it was great.

Haha, I would like going there too. My favorite part of science museums are the environment and chemistry wings.

I went there too! by far THE BEST stop i made on the tour of the national mall museum-wise. not to diss all the other really cool smithsonians, natural history is my thing. I ended up taking most of my pictures in the museum! Kid in a candy store? i think so.

Definitely the best stop I have ever made on any National trip was either that museum or the Field Museum this year.
I mean, I think my username makes it pretty obvious as to what I like.

I wasn't even in middle school when my team got to Nationals in 2008, but I went to Washington DC this year. I saw the Natural History Museum and I was officially obsessed. :D :D :D

Another thing that really was awesome at the nats in 2008 was the tour of the capital building on of my senators set up. We went into the whisper room and our guide told us that because of the size of the room, and before amplification was an option, things were built so that sound could be amplified by the architecture of the room. She told us to stand on a dot on the floor, and she went to the other side of the room, which was packed with people. she said"can you here me?" and it sounded like she was right next to us. Officially the coolest thing i've ever experienced!

The aquarium sucked, though. We had to pretend we were eleven years old. Even the really tall people tried. :P
So, we bought the cheapest tickets.
And then we couldn't see anything exciting. :|
