20th at Nationals in this event, which would have been more had some unknown thing gone wrong with our first shot.

FAT is the way to go, but if you want to win, you'll have to put a little spin on it. There isn't a perfect trebuchet, so use your imagination, and it's crazy how you can improve the design of the trebuchet. Fun event, but because it's only 5 minutes, it gets stressful...

Probably very similar to what it is this year. Perhaps there will be some changes to the dimensions, beyond that I can't see very many changes happening. I guess you never know, but I can't think of anything they could do that would change the event by an appreciable amount.

You underestimate the creativity of us on the rules committee;) We're currently looking at some fundamental changes that include multiple counterweights and multiple projectiles types.

FATs are the only trebuchet's worth building. Look at all the best trebuchets and point out one normal one... you can't. If you want to compete, you're gonna have to gain weight (pun, FAT, fat, no...?).

It'd be interesting if we had a set of counterweights to choose from, more launch time and maybe preselected distances.
Goodbye Science Olympiad, until next year.

Are you guys going to change the way shots are scored? This year's scoring system placed no emphasis on accuracy whatsoever due to a loophole.

IS IT REALLY IN THE FOREST?
