Re: Bottle Rocket B
This event is awful up north. It finally stopped snowing, and now the ground is so muddy my bottles get covered in gunk and mud whenever I launch.
I just cannot get this backslider to work properly. Does a rocket made entirely out of 2L bottles (ie, no paper cone and just adjusted CP/CG/CLA) stand a chance against a coney?

Re: Bottle Rocket B
No we tried those but the are heavier and come down to fast (even on their sides). We have gotten 11 seconds with all 2 liter rocket. 15 with tube. and 25 with coney (that is now gone)

Re: Bottle Rocket B
Alright, so I launched again today and it was interesting...
My rocket had a sweet backslide, but it only began doing so less than halfway down (when the rocket was going down). I was wondering what could I do to make it backslide immediately rather than halfway down. I got 10 seconds and it seems like it'd be around 20 if it backslid the whole way...
Any pieces of advice?

Thought so; I won't bother with it then. Is your "tube" just a coney with a cylinder instead of the cone?Littleboy wrote:No we tried those but the are heavier and come down to fast (even on their sides). Re: Bottle Rocket B
my tube is a wrapping paper roll with other ways of aerodynamics as well in between it and the bottle itself.
what should i do to change/improve it

This will be fun watching all the rcokets at SatesPlatypus wrote:My highest time is 17 seconds with a backslider. Is this good enough to win/or get close to winning states?
I'll be your competition \
A week ago, while it was pouring rain (and my partner ended up sick), we launched and got 22.47 seconds.
While not in the rain, our highest time was 25.12 seconds
