Re: Bottle Rocket B
Not as sad as getting under one second with one and going on the roof with another - and the same design, same day, same unfortunate wind.

I'm 5'0" and 83 pounds. I'm not sure if I could.Brucester wrote:If you read my post before you've read why a well-balanced rocket should handle wind just fine and actually improve times from it. With a manual pump I could pumped it to 90psi. I'm 5'10" and 114lbs... My friend who's around 90-100lbs could pump it to 75psi (with a tad bit of effort, but it was done! ).
Sorry about doubleposting.

Re: Bottle Rocket B
The Pressure is 75 lbs per square inch. You're over 75 lbs, so you should be able to... not easily, but if you threw your weight into it, you should have no problems. I double posted too, sorry about that.Cheesy Pie wrote:I'm 5'0" and 83 pounds. Re: Bottle Rocket B
Does anybody have advice for a newcomer? The state competition is next weekend and all that my team has is two carbonated beverage bottles that meet the qualifications. I'm uncertain of what materials should be used for the fins and I'm gonna attempt to create a backsliding rocket in the short amount of time that I have to build the rockets. What materials are used to build the rockets? Unfortunately I have nothing in mind at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated; thanks in advance.
Goodbye Science Olympiad, until next year.

Re: Bottle Rocket B
Once tried it. They made me do some survey, then tried to make me give them personal info...

Re: Bottle Rocket B
For the coneys, what are you guys using for the nose cones? I first used banner paper, but the nose cones crumpled and the rocket basically just epic failed.

Re: Bottle Rocket B
I find that poster board (the thin kind) works for making a rocket that is in the shape of a cylinder with a cone in the front. However, I haven't really found anything that works for making a long cone.

Just take the piece of posterboard and roll it into a cone lengthwise.space scientist wrote:I find that poster board (the thin kind) works for making a rocket that is in the shape of a cylinder with a cone in the front. However, I haven't really found anything that works for making a long cone.
