It increases the potential pressure (vacuum) differential. This could make the robot harder to lift.How does stacking fans even do anything?

First of all, are you thinking that sumo bots is going to be an event in New York this year? I hadn't heard so, but I'm not in New York. Anyway, there are lots of companies that sell high powered gearmotors. If I were you I'd look at a company like Robot Marketplace. They retail lots of great robot motors on their website. You can also buy them from the manufacturer, but sites like that one are a good way to search for what you want.
