and quite unfair. i personally would prefer no cheat sheets, cause that REALLY separates the people who know their stuff from the people who know how to make good notes.
Personally, Im a one note sheet or nothing kinda guy. saying 4 sheets, is like they just pulled the number out of thin air.

The Grandon Canyon is what type of Canyon?
The Grand Canyon is a plateau canyon because:

1. The opening opens up to the sky in a v-shape - in contrast, slot canyons are very hard to find, they're openings at the surface quite small in width, but their true beauty lay beneath.

2. Plateau canyons, i believe, are formed by the rushing waters of a river eroding away the flat land over time, while a slot canyon is caused by flash floods.

Note: An easy way to identify the two types of canyons is their appearance at the surfaces - Plateau canyons generally open up towards the sky, though some are made of slightly more impervious rock on the sides, resulting in steeper slopes. However, slot canyons are small in width at the surface, though they can be hundreds of feet wide at the bottom.

What really separates people who know their stuff from people who know how to make good notes are tests that cover enough that students don't have enough time to look through their notes for the answer, whether it be a single sheet, multiple sheets, or a binder.

but hopefully, more notes means a harder test, which would make it more fair

Lol, looking at all the tests ive taken at my regional competition over the past few years, i think the hardest question on there might be "Describe the water cycle in a few sentences"...seriously, i don't know who makes those tests, but i could spend an hour and make better ones (and by better i mean harder). Lazy grad students should probably be checked for quality...

If anyone remembers me talking about my regional fossil test, the only question that even prompted me to look in my binder for a question was about the time range of trilobites - not a specific genus, but the entire Phyla...

Try it sometime. It often takes more than an hour just to make the answer sheet for a decent test.

no but honestly, its true. dynamic has gotten to be more and more of a joke every year that passes. I first started scioly with oceanography in place, and it was actually somewhat challenging. then earthquakes and volcanoes came, and it was literally easier than my REGENTS EARTH SCIENCE test. and that was at the states level.

All regionals are different- even the same region in different years. Not every test is a pushover, so don't prepare for it to be.

I was saying i could make a better test relative to the one they made - by no means would it be a good quality test, but i was just trying to express how little time and effort went into making those tests...
