What if we are asked a range? Should it just be greater than 1000 feet and less than 1020 feet? So in interval notation, it would look like this: (1000,1020)? Or do we just go with 1000-1019?

I would think it would be the first, (1000,1020), but I am not completely sure. Hopefully they won't ask you that!

Fortunately, they didn't. I had States today and I placed 2nd in Road Scholar... :( I guess it's alright. Hum...

2nd is better than everyone else but one team, so I'm not sure why you'd be sad about that... I completely failed at Road Scholar up until my freshman year, and I was always thrilled to medal in it that year, I never took it for granted. Cheer up.

Ah, I'm sorry. Normally, I would be thrilled, it's just that the person that beat me was the person that I was trying to beat.

I received 5th at invitationals and then 4th at regional. At invitationals we had to answer questions in a story and it took along time to read. For regional we did 3 minute stations. It went by a lot quicker and I have to thank the people giving the test because they made it a lot faster.

Most of the story is just filler (and usually badly-written). Unfortunately, most tests are written in this form. You can skip most of the story, except the parts around the questions, which usually contain valuable context clues for the question itself.

Yeah, I was just about to say that. That's what we did for States and it turned out extremely well.

In VA, Road Scholar is only offered at the States, which kinda sucks. that means you really have to study a lot because the States are harder than an invitationals test (if we take one).

And I remember last year, my partner and I kinda facepalmed because the test/map was on the State/Commonwealth of Virgina :|

But I like RS; it's a fun event.

Aren't the maps for Road Scholar usually of the area that's hosting the event? It may have changed since I did RS, but I remember having to deal with Pennsylvania maps. There was also a station of Remote Sensing this year that was very much like Road Scholar, and the map was the quadrangle that regionals was in.
