We (the students) found out about the disqualification on last Friday. Our advisors found out earlier, but they tried to fix it before making us worry.
I think it's ridiculous too (& I'm sure most of my teammates would agree). We appealed the decision at every level that we could, but the board voted against us unanimously. Eventually they told us the matter was absolutely closed and we stopped trying.

Just out of curiosity, how did you folks hear we'd been dq'ed?
our middle school team is still going though (for the first time in 7 years!) so we'll be living vicariously through them and helping them prepare a LOT. any division B'ers on this forum, beware! they will be a force to be reckoned with! now i just have to get them to show up for practice...

good luck to you all tomorrow! (especially anyone doing astronomy.)

And the first day comes to an end. Experimental was the generic pendulum one, and we felt we did decent. Apparently several times got moved around, and a bunch of teams are pigeon.
