Re: Illinois 2011
well, you can't babysit the entire team all the time. They have to study and build at home as well. That is part of the responsibility you take up when you join scioly, and If you can't do that, you get booted from the team. So, yes, we often have to let people "do their own thing" because some events can't be taught. Instead, we check notes and monitor progress every so often.

Usually there is at least one serious person per group who keeps the other on task.
100% of deaths are somehow caused by science.

Re: Illinois 2011
that may or may not work for every event, especially since we assign events based on skill and preference.

Re: Illinois 2011
we just have it where people who want to do an event gets it...unless there are more than two people vying...and in that case, the better of the people get it
then theres events where no one wants to do, and then someone gets forced into it *ahmcomputethisahm*
i got forced...because my dad was a computer engineer....though my hate for technology and its hate for me is ironic...

To find trial events you might have to wait until your state schedule comes out.tuftedtitmouse12 wrote:oh

Re: Illinois 2011
sooo, funny story about state. i was wearing my bffls northface jacket, because, if you were there, you would know it was freezing, so at awards, one of my friends noticed that someone had put a fake mustache on the back of the jacket! so since we ended up not placing(sooo close @ eitgth place is that how you spell 8th?), we crowned it our state trophy. and made a national anthem for it. (nothing beats the mustache!) so yeah. thats pretty much it.
GUESS WHAT???? I GOTS 1ST PLACE IN ALL MY EVENTS AT CONFERENCE!!!!
