I don't actually know what this "JV" thing you are talking about is. I think my school calls it the "A" team and the "B"/"C" teams.
All three teams are allowed to do trial events at Regionals, as far as I remember. This is in NY Lower Hudson Valley Regional.

JV stands for junior varsity
they can only compete at regional level, and if Varsity makes it to state, the JV team still cannot compete at state
so varsity is the main team, i guess your A team, and can participate in all levels of competition, even invites, while JV can only compete in regionals and maybe invites...

Re: My team is better than your team, teehee
We never go to invitationals.
The A, B, and C arrangement is only for Regionals.
If the any of the three teams go to states, then they completely rearrange the setup and make another entirely new team to go to states - but only 1 team of 15 people. Even if the B team qualifies for states but the A team doesn't, then we still compete at states and make a new team of 15 people.

Re: My team is better than your team, teehee
When I was in sixth grade, we had four teams from our school district go to State. Two from the middle school, and two from the junior high. It was fun..."Fourth place is...Drake Middle School B! Third place, Drake Middle School A! Second place, Auburn Junior High School B! Annnd..first place, AUBURN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL A!!!"
Yeah. All us.
Yeah. All us.

Wait what? You can have 2 teams of the same school (A and B) at states? In NY it's only for Regionals.
My school has 3 teams, and it is the only middle school in the district. 5 elementary schools feed into it. There is only one high school.

Eh, you're in New York. We're in Alabama. We could probably have four teams from the Junior High if we wanted. We've got 6 elementary schools, a middle school, a junior high, and a high school. If you're still confused, go to the link I provided for tuftedtitmouse12.NYLHVSSO wrote:Wait what? You can have 2 teams of the same school (A and B) at states? In NY it's only for Regionals.

Re: My team is better than your team, teehee
In NY, PJ Gelinas JHS had 5 teams (A-E) at Regionals.
At States, Gelinas JHS won 2nd and RC Murphy (their other school in the district) won 3rd place.
I understand what you mean with the grade splits. I just was not sure earlier because most districts do not have both an MS and a JHS.
