When I was in sixth grade, we had four teams from our school district go to State. Two from the middle school, and two from the junior high. It was fun..."Fourth place is...Drake Middle School B! Third place, Drake Middle School A! Second place, Auburn Junior High School B! Annnd..first place, AUBURN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL A!!!"
Yeah. All us.

Wait what? You can have 2 teams of the same school (A and B) at states? In NY it's only for Regionals.

My school has 3 teams, and it is the only middle school in the district. 5 elementary schools feed into it. There is only one high school.

Eh, you're in New York. We're in Alabama. We could probably have four teams from the Junior High if we wanted. We've got 6 elementary schools, a middle school, a junior high, and a high school. If you're still confused, go to the link I provided for tuftedtitmouse12.

In NY, PJ Gelinas JHS had 5 teams (A-E) at Regionals.

At States, Gelinas JHS won 2nd and RC Murphy (their other school in the district) won 3rd place.

I understand what you mean with the grade splits. I just was not sure earlier because most districts do not have both an MS and a JHS.

It is rather rare, I agree. But in a few more years, our school system will be even more screwed up. Don't worry, though, SO will still go strong.
