... But I though there were trial events at regionals! And you still have to be part of a Varsity team to do them at states, yeah?

chia, JV events are for regionals
trial are for state
to do trial, you can be on the team, or an alternate

nope, I definitely competed in trial events at regionals on the varsity team (chia, we won two regional trail events together!)... and i am pretty sure that either varsity or JV can do trial at state.
