Detailed State Results
After our state competition we received a simplified version the results, but did not receive one with the point values. Do State coordinators release that information or is it kept private?

Re: Detailed State Results
We've only gotten actual scores for invitationals, never for regionals or states. Apparently, the "hidden" reasoning behind it, is so that we can't appeal the test after the fact. (Don't quote me on that)

Re: Detailed State Results
Usually states have the complete scores (read: ranks for each event) online at the state website. As for actual event scores, as in, "Team A: 70/85, Team B: 68/85"... they don't normally post those.

Re: Detailed State Results
Depending on who was judging, you can often get an idea about your score from the judges. We were talking to one of the judges at States, who is pretty friendly with us, and he was able to tell us that there was 400 points between our Mission and the team who placed second behind us. We don't usually get real specific results, but we often will get at least a clue to which sections we did bad on, how close we were, etc. This often requires a preexisting relationship between the teams, because of the sheer numbers of tests involved. But this is a nice side effect of having friends in other teams.

I think the real reason is it would be too much of a hassle to post all the raw data for all the events.

I believe that the raw scores for building events at Nationals are available on a CD for purchase.chalker wrote:haverstall wrote:We've only gotten actual scores for invitationals, never for regionals or states. Re: Detailed State Results
I suppose that's one way to make some profit.

Re: Detailed State Results
This is news to me. Can anyone confirm this one way or another? I tried looking on the SOInc Store, but couldn't find anything similar to it.Luo wrote:I believe that the raw scores for building events at Nationals are available on a CD for purchase.chalker wrote:haverstall wrote:We've only gotten actual scores for invitationals, never for regionals or states. I'm not even sure what place my team got. My coach says 4th. A user says 3rd.
