Re: Battery Buggy B
back wheel powered and all wheel braking works best.

Re: Battery Buggy B
may I ask how you allwheel break?
Is that even possible with a threaded rod/wingnut?

Re: Battery Buggy B
No, actually. That burns out the motor. You need a good kill-switch and someone who doesn't destroy things by touch, like Josh Curtis or Jack Fishman. lolJocool wrote:back wheel powered and all wheel braking works best.
States is gonna suck...

Re: Battery Buggy B
Yes, it is. You just have two wingnuts, and one kill-switch. But I wouldn't recommend it because Jocool DESTROYED his buggy. He's using mine, and he DESTROYED that one, too. (By trying to max out the speed by changing the gear ratio.)new_horizon wrote:may I ask how you allwheel break?

Re: Battery Buggy B
Well, he messed up his buggy by melting the motor. It just died. So he's using mine, because I'm not in the event anymore, and the gears don't even work.new_horizon wrote:i don't think you can destroy it, just get a new motor.

Re: Battery Buggy B
i'm sorry, I wasn't competing at states either although I built most of the buggy and they got first. haha. oh well i guess.
and yeah, most probably you could keep bringing in new motors and fix the problem. it burns right? you need more torque, so geardown your ratio.

Re: Battery Buggy B
i did more on it than you. by the way who got third? whos an alternate? who got mr. grande angry by loosing his notes. i wouldn't talk. and i didn't destroy it at all. paul said that YOU made the gears wrong. it needed its own axle. and, 2 brakes work fine. we used it on ours. it never broke cus of all weel brakes. it was just too inconsistent. so seriously, stifle yourself kahaf.kahafman wrote:Well, he messed up his buggy by melting the motor. Re: Battery Buggy B
lawl we're going to start gearing gear ratios soon. how do you tell if you made it too high again?
btw jocool that's a really cool design. we're using a cruddy 1 threaded rod/wingnut and only front wheel breaking. i totally want to change it (even maybe get a balsa wood chassis) but a person who's helping us says it's not worth the risk. I guess I have to agree, maybe next year haha. But i can say the skid would be better with rear wheel breaking.
