Azimuth / Bearing: Go back to March 16, on page 8 of this thread. I explained it there.

UTM: Good site here that should be of help: http://www.maptools.com/UsingUTM/
It really helped me.

PLSS: Here's how you write a location in PLSS: Find the section number, then find where it is in that section. For instance, if there is an orchard in the northwest corner of section 30, then you write NW 1/4 NW 1/4 30 to start. Then, you have to write T # S R # W, which indicates township and range, and can be found in quadrangle margins. So in all a PLSS description could look like: "NW 1/4 NW 1/4 30 T12S R7W" For more information, read the [wiki][/wiki]. You can find stuff about sectors there too.

Remember, you can bring in as many notes as you want. So take as many notes as possible!

It should be like regionals. Somebody else should answer this because test difficulty actually went down from regionals to states for us. Just be prepared for everything and it should go fine.

Pretty much what the last poster said. I have never taken a state test (I will in about 3 days). Anyway, it's the same rules, nothings changed, the questions may just be worded diffrent to make it harder. Thats the only thing they can really do (I think, like I said I have failed to take one, well, I've taken practice tests but you know what I mean.)

i agree. although often, they use new questions that involve things that aren't at regionals.

This is my team's first year for nationals and my partner and I were just curious on the highway map for the Road Scholar test. For those of you who have gone to nationals before, do they usually use the highway map for the state that the competition is being held in(so for this year Illinois)or any random state's? Thanks.
8th at Nationals......In our 1st year.........finally, our chance to shine
