Season 2011 - Site suggestions
Season 2010 isn't quite over yet, but we're almost there.
What would you like to see done differently?
Should things be organized differently?
Improvements to the wiki or image gallery?
Are there other features/services you would like to see added to the site?
Anything else?

I hate to bring this up for fear of messing things up, but a karma system?

Re: Season 2011 - Site suggestions
I sometimes felt like there were a lot of things going on at once in a single thread, so maybe we could have multiple threads? Not like the 2009 season, but each event could be its own subtopic, and could have a few threads in it? I don't think that we should be able to make our own threads, but like for building events you could have "Building Ideas" and "Scores", in the Study events you could have "Things to study" and "Note making", and likewise for the lab events. You could also make a "General Q&A" thread in each event. It would make each thread smaller, and it would be easier to find the one post you need.
Just an idea.
Just an idea.

Really like this years organization of the event threads no long pages of threads to look through just to find the original Battery Buggy thread or whatnot.
The wiki seems fine how it is at the moment

Well the wiki has had a few things that have been brought up but are unresolved, one being the map thing. New York has a map in it's box state info but none of the other states do, it needs to be decided whether or not to make all pages like that or not. We can deal with this more thoroughly on chat.robotman09 wrote:Really like this years organization of the event threads no long pages of threads to look through just to find the original Battery Buggy thread or whatnot.

And just to add, the Test Exchange seems more sparse this year then last.

I think it's ok how it is except I think Elevated Bridge might need it's own sub-forum like WS and MP.

Yeah, we should probably publicize the test exchange a little more on the board, maybe have it like the trial events thing, where its a locked thread that explains the test exchange.starpug wrote:Well the wiki has had a few things that have been brought up but are unresolved, one being the map thing. I completely agree. People say "READ THE THREAD!" without realizing how long it actually takes to read it. (I mean, come on. When Balsa and Greg told me (and all the other newbies) "Read the forum", it was 60 pages. I spent a good 2 hours reading the first half, and there was way too much repetition.) Bridge won't be around next year, I don't believe (I could be mistaken), but we do need a sub-forum for next year's balsa event.fmtiger124 wrote:I think it's ok how it is except I think Elevated Bridge might need it's own sub-forum like WS and MP.
If we had a sub-forum:
a) There wouldn't be so much repetition, seeing as it would be much easier to find things
b) It would be easier to check if our questions had been asked before

I really like the way this site is organized. I can't compare it to other seasons as this is my first year on the site, but I do like robodude's idea of having two or three subcategories for each event. And maybe some additions/reorganization of the score tracker, I think that could be set up better.

I think the score tracker could be advertised better. Its a really good tool, only practically nobody uses it. Especially for study events.zyzzyva98 wrote:And maybe some additions/reorganization of the score tracker, I think that could be set up better.
