oh you were there too? I think I was there! What stunk wsa that the event managers didn't know how much sand was in the bucked. Ss the bridge broke at like 17 kg (overbuild). I would have liked to keep the bridge intact.

Really? Well I wouldn't have known anyways. My bridge failed prematurely. I think you know that from my previous posts. Ha, that sucks. There's bad management even at States. I hope it isn't like that at Nationals. My team might go as a second place team. It depends on how many teams withdraw. Did you get my tip about bracings for the bridge forum?

Actually, in Nationals this event is run very smothly. They use water instead of sand, and the water is dispensed through a lever system, and you don't even use a can/cup to scoop the sand into the bucket.
edit: yes, blackkitty, I was there, I saw people calculating without a calculator, and by the eye, it looked like Community was ahead, but it wasn't true.

2010. Be prepared. If not, you f(l)ail!

Hey. Just wondering if there's anyone from New Jersey that's going to Six Flags Great Adventure for Physics Day on Friday May 21st? It'd be cool to see some science olympians there.

Hey guys! Just wanted to say that tournament dates are up for 2011 (impressively early too).

Camden CC Regionals: Saturday January 8, 2011 (snow date 1/9)
NJIT Regionals: Thursday January 13, 2011 (snow date 1/14)
Union County CC Regionals: Tuesday January 11, 2011 (snow date 1/12) TENTATIVE

Middlesex CC States: Tuesday March 15, 2011

Central Jersey has it at UCC again??? Now I'm really curious about what happened to Princeton. Anyway, it's tentative so it might change.

hopes we don't go to camden cause I want to miss a day of school.
oh and UCC hosted it really poorly, it was their first year but seriously, we had no room whatsoever for JYC they made us cram 5 teams into this tiny room.

It was a bit packed, but I like how we were allowed to lounge in the Commons even though there was no assigned "homerooms". Also, we usually never go to Camden. If Regionals is hosted at UCC, then the B div might go to UCC again and the C div will go to NJIT (Idk why they do that though).
