-Correctamundo. And that\'s what we\'re gonna be. We\'re gonna be cool. Now, I\'m gonna count to three, and when I count three, you let go of your mouse, and back away from the keyboard. But when you do it, you do it cool. Ready? One... two... three.

Re: Protein Modeling C
anyone understand how this could be a lab unless they consider using the computer to build the onsite model as a lab then im not sure it belongs here

Re: Protein Modeling C
Well, (A) Compute This is a lab event and that uses a computer and (B) Don't you also have to build an on-site model by hand? I haven't really read the draft rules yet.

Yes, the onsite model is built by hand, and I think it's fair to call this a lab event, since only 30% of your score is determined by the test portion (assuming that the scoring remains the same as last year's trial event rules, which normally wouldn't be certain, but given that the rules- as well as the tests- were written by the people at the Center for Biomolecular Modeling at MSOE, I don't think they'll change that much).zyzzyva98 wrote:Well, (A) Compute This is a lab event and that uses a computer and (B) Don't you also have to build an on-site model by hand? Where on soinc.org did you find this? I couldn't find any information about it.quizbowl13 wrote:soinc.org wrote:For 2011, students will model proteins involved in reprogramming adult cells to become stem cells
EDIT: Never mind, I found it (if anyone else is looking for it, it's under Event Info -> Short Event Descriptions).

Re: Protein Modeling C
Thank you. I assume this means you have the rulebook already, since the MSOE SciO page still lists the 2009-10 information.Flavorflav wrote:The protein is Klf4.
