For 2011, students will model proteins involved in reprogramming adult cells to become stem cells
<quizbowl> ey kid ya want some shortbread
<EASTstroudsburg13> I don't know why, but I just can't bring myself to delete this post.
anyone understand how this could be a lab unless they consider using the computer to build the onsite model as a lab then im not sure it belongs here
Yes, the onsite model is built by hand, and I think it's fair to call this a lab event, since only 30% of your score is determined by the test portion (assuming that the scoring remains the same as last year's trial event rules, which normally wouldn't be certain, but given that the rules- as well as the tests- were written by the people at the Center for Biomolecular Modeling at MSOE, I don't think they'll change that much).Well, (A) Compute This is a lab event and that uses a computer and (B) Don't you also have to build an on-site model by hand? I haven't really read the draft rules yet.
Where on soinc.org did you find this? I couldn't find any information about it.For 2011, students will model proteins involved in reprogramming adult cells to become stem cells
i am really curious to know what kind of protein we will get this year with that kind of short descriptionFor 2011, students will model proteins involved in reprogramming adult cells to become stem cells
Thank you. I assume this means you have the rulebook already, since the MSOE SciO page still lists the 2009-10 information. The protein is Klf4.
the entire protein and this doesnt seem as dramatic as h1n1 was but we shall seeThe protein is Klf4.
