Oh right, that. To be honest, I just learned as many as I could, and most of the tests I've taken seem to give you the information you need.

Not really- from what I remember. Of course, I don't have a rules book yet. I may be getting it today though- today is the first meeting!

Re: Ecology B/C
Tundra and taiga, eh? Should be interesting...
Also my first time doing this event, though I have the rules, so that should help.

According to the rules manuals, no exact species is mentioned, but (for Division C) one needs to be able to identify different energy levels in a food web, compare two populations and find out which one is predator/prey as well as find the growth rate, and find age structures. Paleonaps' method seems to be pretty straightforward I guess for being familiar with the species.quizbowl13 wrote:ahh, okay. is it ever specified in the rules how much one needs to know about them?

Re: Ecology B/C
Just kind of read up on them. If any species is mentioned on the test, they will usually be for demonstration only, or to ask about general adaptations.

Re: Ecology B/C
JMD and Reed seriously, I suggest you both look on the websites that the OFFICIAL website gives you, it really comes in handy. Also when planning your notesheet you really have to think about what pictures(if you do put them on). I mean at States when they asked for the Nitrogen Cycle we had the SAME EXACT diagram that was on the test! All we did was fill in the blanks, took a second. Also you're gonna want to familiarize yourself with tests from previous years. I mean at States they asked us what NIMBY meant and I was like WTF? Learn the format!

Re: Ecology B/C
I've actually been using those sites to make some basic note sheets (for studying not for using at the events) and have been studying them, though I've never thought about pictures until now.trajectoryroxs wrote:JMD and Reed seriously, I suggest you both look on the websites that the OFFICIAL website gives you, it really comes in handy.
