Re: Ornithology B/C
^^ WHOA>... that is REALLY good quality.
No matter what the experiment's result, there will always be someone eager to:(a) misinterpret it(b) fake it, or (c) believe it supports his own pet theory.

Re: Ornithology B/C
Yeah, they are great, but also cost some $725 a set. I have a picture where I wrote in all the names, but I don't know how to put it online. I will see if I can upload to the gallery.

Re: Ornithology B/C
Does anyone have a picture or link to a bird's nest with the labeled parts?
I looked but cannot find one.
Thanks!

Re: Ornithology B/C
I am not sure that there are specific "parts" to a nest. You would be better off investigating various building materials.

Re: Ornithology B/C
I looked up some nesting types though,
Egg cup-what robins do, your stereotypical nest
Natural Cavity- owls and woodpeckers, made in trees or already there
Nest box- Human made
Complex weave- made intricately hanging, look up orioles nests to see
also, eggs come in shapes, allowing for adaptations that help visibility or motility

Re: Ornithology B/C
I happen to know that the school that is running Ornithology at a few invites(not mine, but close by) used stuffed birds and nests borrowed from our town's nature center. I agree, definitely check it out.scientist wrote:hey just a note if you have access to a nearby facility(forest preserve, museum, or other wildlife center) try looking at the stuffed birds, eggs, and nests it really helps
There once was a group of teens
