actually, a coulee is a long extension of igneous rock at the base of a volcano, due to lava flowing to and solidifying at one side of the volcano. Therefore, I'm not sure how coulee can play into a lake...

Can you try to add the test to the wiki, if you have it?

I'll try... My scanner has recently been having connection problems with my laptop so not sure how to fix that.

Um...sorry if I sound stupid but I'm really not understanding the Chezy and Manning equations. :? One modifies the other? huh?

The Chezy and Manning coefficients can be related: C=(1/n)R^(1/6)
C is the chezy coefficient, n is the manning coefficient, and R is the hydraulic radius.

the lake features topic is killing me - I have such mess of information physical/chemical properties and stratification.

What I really want to know is, lake shorelines and waves? I can't find ANYTHING about them - what in the world are we supposed to know?

all help is greatly appreciated :)

I haven't taken a test that included PHYSICAL lake properties.... so I too am wondering what that would be about

Well the answer to "which of the following types of lake is volcanic in origin" was coulee lake
took that same test haha
then perhaps you can help me with some other questions I had.

#45 orthograde oxygen profiles (???)
#48 mesothermal temperature curves. I know the answer was none of the above, but what exactly would a mesothermal temperature curve look like then?
#49i'm not sure what the (wrong) answer choices C and D (crenogenic and thereimictic) are
#53 my answer key says b but shouldn't it be a? if something is pervious shouldn't it have a higher hydraulic conductivity than something that is impervious?
#59 what measurements of phosphorus and chlorophyll approximately would make a lake oligotrophic, mesotrophic, or eutrophic?
#81 is a tarn the same as a "cirque lake"
and for 95 on do you know of any good sources on dams to learn about that stuff?

I know it's a lot but any help at all is greatly appreciated!

I graded the Dynamic Planet div. C regionals in Eastern Long Island, and only one team out of the 50ish that took it understood stream orders (they were the winning team), so that's something people should know.

Since wikipedia can explain it much better than I can:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stream_order
2009 events:
Fossils: 1st @ reg. 3rd @ states (stupid dinosaurs...) 5th @ nats.
Dynamic: 1st @ reg. 19thish @ states, 18th @ nats
Herpetology (NOT the study of herpes): NA
Enviro Chem: 39th @ states =(
Cell Bio: 9th @ reg. 18th @ nats
Remote: 6th @ states 3rd @ Nats
Ecology: 5th @ Nats
